West Chicago based PCB fabricator American Standard Circuits has recently received their UL certification for both MEGTRON 4 and MEGTRON 6 laminates, which are manufactured by Panasonic Corporation Electronics Materials Business Division (distributed by Matrix Electronics). The Megtron laminates are used when low loss dielectric constant and dielectric dissipation, as well as heat resistance are required.
MEGTRON 4/4S is designed for Low Dk and High Tg applications, specifically for network equipment, server, routers and measuring instruments. The main attributes of MEGTRON 4/4S are: low dielectric constant and dielectric dissipation factor (Dk = 3.8 and Df = 0.005 at 1GHz), Lead-Free soldering RoHS compliant, and high heat resistance.
MEGTRON 6 is advanced material designed for high-speed network equipment, mainframes, IC testers and high frequency measuring instruments. The main attributes of MEGTRON 6 are: low dielectric constant and dielectric dissipation factors, low transmission loss and high heat resistance; Td = 410°C (770°F).
American Standard Circuits President and CEO Anaya Vardya stated, “With our customers increasing their PCB dielectric and impedance requirements the need for special materials like the MEGTRON product line is also increasing. We are pleased to be expanding our options by adding these special materials to our list of U.L. certified laminates.”
